About

Welcome! Welcome, every lover of all things fishy, to our blog. We’re here to discuss various types of fishing on this site, and hope both to introduce novices to the sport, and to encourage experienced fishers to branch out into different types of fishing. As far as this family is concerned, there is no better way to bond than to take a fishing trip.

Our favourite type of fishing involves little more than a canoe or a dock and a few fishing rods, but we know that there is definitely more than one type of fishing that can bring together family and friends. I, for one, will be forever grateful for the countless summer days spent out on the lake enjoying the company of some of the people dearest to me, fishing rod in one hand, and beer (or lemonade, depending on your age!) in the other. And following the afternoons, of course, come the evenings, sitting around the campfire with freshly-caught fish roasting nicely over the flames. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water!

We know that not everyone reading this site has had fishing experience, and that’s okay! As I stated above, one of the aims of this site is to encourage those who maybe haven’t thought much about fishing before to give it a try and make their own memories. One of the best things about fishing is that you require so little equipment. Sure, you’ll almost certainly need a rod and bait of some sort, but once you’ve got those things, you’re off to the races!

Of course, if you want to step it up a few notches and get really into it, there are countless ways to do that, too (though be warned, it can get pricey). And don’t get caught up with the idea that only “old” people fish, because that absolutely isn’t the case! Anyone with some free time and some patience is a perfect candidate for the sport. Ideally, some sort of affinity for the outdoors accompanies a desire to fish, but I suppose even that isn’t a prerequisite (though I imagine it would make the whole experience infinitely more enjoyable).

In the end, we hope that as you read this blog, you think to yourself “yes, I could fish.” We want to make this great sport sound accessible, not intimidating, and we aim to suggest as many different kinds of fishing as possible, available in all different kinds of climates, so that no matter where you live, there will be something on this site for you! And whether you’re the type type to catch and release, a frequent fryer, or a complete novice who hasn’t had the opportunity to figure that out yet, this is a perfect website for you! So please, join us as we explore the multifaceted world of fishing!
